I've fallen in love with this wierd floral die so as its a friends birthday next week I thought I'd use it for the card, I decided to go with browns and found this peice of brown dotty acetate, some brown beads and me fav die, hope she likes it, the insert turned out the wrong colour, ah well, it wouldnt do to get it right for a change would it, I'm trying to make my cards simpler and quicker, its worked on this one, only took me a several hours tee hee

I liked this card in the end but it took some doing, I mucked it up that many times you wouldn't believe! I know its just a simple card but I have done it in SCAL and MCS but the printing is done on SCAL!! I enjoyed playing around with the two programmes to see what I could acheive with them to produce a card, I love that image, oh and the random flower is to cover up a blob of ink that flew out of the mica squirty bottle thing, another 'happy accident' except I wasnt very happy :0)

Tilly decided to take the blanket out of her bed and put it on the chair as a cushion, she's not as daft as I thought she was :0)
I made this for my friend Teresa, she loves a bit of bling.... but again its one of those cards I made when I'm really not sure where I was going with it, I should stick to my cricut cards they seem to be a bit better!! I remember now.... I wanted to use this gorguss very expensive ribbon, thats what started it... its really lovely ribbon

This is another card for Suzi, she loves fairies, flutterbys and all things beautiful, so there are quite a few flutterbys on this card, it didnt turn out as nice as I thought it would but its not too bad, I used an earing as the fairy suspended from the ribbon, waste not want not! and I also put lovely pastel skeleton leaves on to enhance her wings, I hope she likes it, its for her sister who is very ill in hospital, I've also written a poem for her but thats private of course........

This is a record for me, making 3 cards in one week, I know they're nothing special and easy to do but still............ these are cards for me lovely Suzi again, she's having a very rough time of it with one thing and another! I like to think the house cards are improving but I forget how I did it each time so probably not! the pictures arent very good colours and I seem to be going through a brown phase at the moment, hope it passes soon its not very exciting is it!
the fairy card looked like a good idea but it just will not stand up so won't be doing that one again, ooeer, I felt a bit of dejavu then so maybe I've already posted the fairy card.... have to have a gander! sorry if I did :0)

ok, so I've had a revamp of the blog... does it look better? This name book is a very special one for me, I made it for a girl I used to work with, she called her little girl Eleanor but will call her Ellie so this is my little book for Ellie, I havent put any pics in, left that for mummy and daddy to do, I've tried to incorporate lots of pages, books and spaces for photo's, what makes this book special is that when I took this round to my friend Sam (mummy), I met her hubby for the first time and he very sadly died the next day of a massive heart attack, to say we're all devasted is an understatement! so this book is dedicated to Ellies daddy Eric, so very very sad........

A card for my beautiful daughter Lou, she cycled from London to Paris for charity and enjoyed it very much, what a diamond she is.... not sure where this card was going either, I was very pleased that I worked out how to do all the different cuts in SCAL, getting the words in the wheel took quite a few attempts and the bike itself involved a lot of work, I don't think all the work I put in shows on the card really but its unique and something she will keep if I know her, funnily enough it took me longer to make this card than it took her to cycle to Paris!!! I might make her a replacement one day, shame I've forgotten how to do it all ha ha ha, I'll have to write it down next time!

This card was for my stepdaughter Lyndzy's 30th, I wanted it to be really special for her and had this idea for a 'hidden' window with the 30 bit in, sadly it all went horribly wrong and ended up as another one of my disaster cards, not sure what went wrong but i am annoyed with myself for leaving it to late to make another card to give her, she's a lovely girl,

I can't believe I'm putting this on but its gotta be worth a larf, my lovely DD was 30 in June and I decided in my wisdom to make her a cake, the idea was to have a 3 tier cake one tier per decade, the items on the layers are some of the things she loved in that decade, I decided to get the people made as I realised I would make a huge bodge up if I tried, (the cake was bad enough!) anyway it looks dreadful but she thought it was ok, she loved He Man when she was little and of course her Teddy (he still sits on her bed) so that was the first layer, the second was taken up with.... yes you guessed it, FOOTY all my hopes and dreams of a ballerina gone!! the Mini is the exact model of her first car, and finally she's now plod and the BMW is the best car she's had, she loved that car! sadly gone now and replace with a teeny weeny Toyota....
the cake may have looked dreadful but tasted pretty good according to everyone who had some, and boy was there a lot, it was a huge cake!!

this is a card for my nieghbour Carol, (92) she had a dreadful flood in her bungalow just after Christmas and still hasn't moved back in! fingers crossed she should be back by next weekend so thought I'd do her a Welcome Home card, this is a card I've done a couple of times but as I sold the cricut cart with it on I have done this one completely from scratch in SCAL, I'm actually quite chuffed with this one as I made the shape for the roof myself in Inkscape, very simple I know but it's my first attempt, and then I realised I could give it more definition by adding the little cuts, I figured out I could do this in SCAL, I am very pleased with myself as I've had SCAL for years and only just figured out how to use it better.... doh

Carols fav colour is lilac so I've done this for her, I even managed to cut out window frames to make it more dimentional, the first picture isnt a very good one tho, anyone out there reading this who has any doubts about SCAL..... GET IT!!

This is the other card I did for Megans 18th birthday. Meg is in a drama school and loves these masks so I think she liked it well enough!! I mucked it up at the very last minuet cos I decided to trim a bit off the top cos it wasn't perfect.. fopahhh!! I cut through the securing bit of the cord holding the beads and I think top 3 beads are in serious danger of coming out, it was too late to rectify or remake so hope they last until Meg gets the card and then puts them away!!

I know I keep doing these name books but I like doing them and they are so personal to the person getting them they like them too, I loved this one cos the baby is soooooo gorguss, isnt she beautiful :0)

I was quite happy with this SISTER word book but it took ages to make and then I realised I'd used the wrong font.... ARGHHHH!! it took me ages to get the words to cut out how I wanted them, I had just finished a really nice (say it myself) word book for a couple that got married, it said FOREVER, unfortunately I lost all the pictures on my phone, so only got one picture of it when I had just cut it out, but none of the finished item.... GUTTED!!! it was probably one of my best efforts too... boo hoo (I found the pic and put it on, its after this post)

Well, this is the only pic I have of the FOREVER word book, THIS was the font I was supposed to be using for the SISTER book above!! what on earth was I doing? I am so upset that I lost all the pics of this book cos it really was quite nice.... isnt it a lovely font tho!!

Look who we found in our garden this morning, a terrified little deer!! she was keeping a very close eye on me whilst trying to find her way out, goodness knows how she got in our garden, anyway several hours later I think she has found a way out and hopefully gone home!! isn't she lovely :)this was a very quick card I made with my trusty cricut for one of DD's friends, I should have cut out the happy birthday bit but I was in a rush so fell back on the dreaded peel offs, she liked it anyway!

Suzi moved house recently so I made this for her again with my cricut, what a fantasic little machine he is :)

Well, here are some pics of an album I started back in November just after I got made redundant, unfortunately it was another of my 'disaster' projects and after several things going wrong I abandoned the whole thing for several months! the young girl in the pics (Jade) passed away recently and this was requested by her cousin Kaylee for Jades mum to have as a keepsake, luckily there was no mad rush, just as well cos my mojo had still not returned from wherever its been for the last 30 years! anyway, my conscience finally got the better of me and I managed to finish it, It was a very sad thing to work on, and I'm not sure I've done Kaylee justice but I did my best and she liked it well enough thank goodness, it turned out to be a much bigger book than I'd planned on but there were a lot of pics and I felt they should all go in if poss, so its ended up 10 or 11 pages, in fact it was so big and fat I couldn't use my bind it all machine as I'd planned so had to buy giant sized book rings which I think spoiled it a bit... ah well.....
Jade loved lots of bright colours, beetle cars and playboy bunnies so I've put some of that in, but also more stuff for her mum to enjoy too!

the card below was a request for an ex work colleague who I've made a couple of books for, he's MAD about Mr Blobby... why???? anyway when I asked what he liked and was told Mr Blobby I panicked and thought what the heck can I do for him, luckily this emerged and I was actually pleased with the finished article... it now takes pride of place in his Mr Blobby collection

Made this for Fi, it was for her cousin Zoe's 18th, Zoe is a bit goth, and is training to be a beautician I think, hence the definition about beauty!! I spent ages painstakingly cutting out the decoupaged hair, face and dress on the girl, goth tinkerbell and the kitty on the front of the card but the effect was well worth the effort! (this is where the first pic should have been) I did a double sided bookmark with goth type girls on, it was a lot of work but all in all I was pleased with the finished card.. Fi and Zoe liked it too which was great!

My neighbour Carol was 90 recently and I wanted to make her a bubble card but this one really did go horribly wrong, another one of my 'where did that come from' cards!! I really don't know what happened with this card, but the box was ok, Carol liked it bless her., hope I'm as brilliant as her if I get to 90!!!!!

My lovely DD went to New York and visited the police station while she was there, (she's a police officer in the Met) this guy Bobby sent her some police stuff and was very nice to her so I did this card for her to send to him by way of a Thank you

A card for my friend Teresa who's daughter has just given birth to a baby boy, she's a tiny little thing and the baby was 9lb 12oz..... now THATS big!!! I've found a tutorial for these flowers and have put them on a lot of my cards lately, they're so gorguss!!

I can't believe I haven't been on here for so long! amazing what being out of work does to you, I thought I'd be doing stuff round the house and getting my life sorted out, instead I've been unmotivated and done virtually nothing... I've had ONE interview in 7 months and it looks like I'll never get another job, which should fill my heart with dread but apart from the need to earn money I really don't want to go out into the big bad world any more! Well I'm not sure, but I think I may have slipped into digital cardmaking or something, I've been off all week and done nothing but muck about with the various packages I have, this card looked ok on the screen but its not much in the flesh, I like the design side of digi work but not the finished article so much, having said that I'm no good at it... and it shows, I don't really know where I'm going with this but it seemed as if you could produce quick cards this way, turns out they're just as involved as anything on the Cricut really so I'm just going to enjoy playing with the various bits and bobs I have to hand, will have to invest in some tutorial cds for Paint Shop Pro x cos that baffles the life out of me!!
this has all been done in My Craft Studio with lots of elements from outside too, I did cut out the flowers cos it just looked too flat, anyway, this card is for me gorgeous daughter and please note NO RIBBON!! well I nearly put some on but resisted :(

This is another card using the various packages to make the picture on the front exactly as I wanted it, the couple having the baby are unknown to me so thought I'd better keep it simple but personalise it with their names, they know its a boy but thought I'd play safe just in case!! my baby was supposed to be about 7lbs she eventually emerged 9lb 4oz so doctors don't know EVERYTHING!! looking at this picture has made me realise how bad it is, what was I thinking? should have got my cricut out methinks!!

Finally.... this card is what I designed for the troops to send home to their loved ones and friends, I thought the image appropriate without being too depressing? the guns are pointing to the words to 'soften' the image a little, I showed the original to my SIL and she said it was a bit to 'moving' but she's far to polite to say its to 'bleak' maybe? but I took her point and made the background blue instead of the original grey, I'm still not sure if they are ok but went with my gut feeling that a lot of blokes don't want flowers and slushy stuff even if they are big softies underneath! DH say's they're alright so thats good enough for me cos he's 'well ard' hee hee...
so, if I get a load of abusive letters I'll know I got it wrong!

I did this one for the Manager at the local Matalan store who was extremely generous when I spent all the money I'd collected on warm socks, I was told by an ex serviceman that its flippin freezing at night out there and warm socks would be more appreciated than sweets etc! anyway the very nice man at Matalan pretty much doubled the amount of socks I bought so I thought a card was definitely in order!!

Hello lovely peeps, here's a card I made for my lovely DH, yes I made him one this year, he sits and watches me make cards for all and sundry and I never get time to make him one, so this year I made myself make time for him!! its a side waterfall thingy, with pics of all the birds in our garden, he spends hours of his time feeding all the birds and we're rewarded with visits from loads of different species, I must make sure I don't lapse again, he is a wonderful husband and takes care of all his 'birds'!!

There's a funny story behind this card, well it's funny NOW, but at the time I could have strangulated myself for my own stupidity!! I had a request for this card and had months in which to make it, left it till the last minute and then made it last week, just the box to do and voila! I was also making the big black and white card for Carolyn (next post) so stuff everywhere, (come on own up you're just as bad!!) so I decided to try out my new glimmer mist in peacock green or something, so I sprayed it onto some cardstock and thought, ang on... where's the fabulous colour? you're way ahead of me aren't you, YES, I'd got the nozzle the wrong way round and sprayed all over the heart card and splattered the B&W card too, ARGHHHHHH what a numpty! I couldnt believe my eyes (or stupidity) when they shouted 'BRAINS' I thought they said 'STRAINS' and shot to the back of the queue!! I wanted thick HAIR and a thin BODY and wrong queue's again!!! I digress, so... I immediately threw a tantrum and ripped all the bits off the card for salvage, and had to start again!! I'm going to call it a 'happy accident' cos I wasnt struck on the first one anyway, it was tooooo pink, the lady wanted pink with butterfly's but I thought it was too much and sprayed it with green ink deliberately, so nurghh!! by the way, I've already thanked the very talented Tracey Gough for this beautiful design, but another mention won't go amiss!! to see the original one she designed please look on her blog, its full of wonderful creations she's an inspiration to a very lot of people, thanks Tracey xx

I made this one for a chap at work, he wanted something different in lemon colours so I did this and I think this is ok but I'm not very good at these cards, I'm not sure what I'm any good at but it certainly isnt this!! never mind, I enjoyed doing it and the beading was interesting on vellum!! I thought I'd be a clever dick and see if I could put something in the comments box and it let me, I naturally put something modest!!!!! and now I don't know how to get rid of it... looks really sad when you have to leave YOURSELF some nice comments, anyone know how to get rid of it please??

Here's another little name book, I think I may have posted this already so apologies if I have, if I haven't HERE IT IS :)

and here's one I made earlier, this is actually my 2nd A4 card, I thought this one looked ok cos you can't go wrong with black and white can you? it always looks classy no matter how bad your card making is! this black glitter paper was something my lovely SD wrapped a pressie for her dad in, and being the little cracker she is she thought of me and made him open his pressie VERY carefully, mind you he's one step ahead of her and was already smiling cos he knew I was licking my lips when I saw it! I'm sooooooo easy!! don't know how long it'll stay stuck to the card but I never said the cards would last forever!! If you look really hard you can probably see the green speckles from my 'little accident'

and here is the guilty party, the first A4 card I made, this is for my SS and I wanted to make sure he couldn't possibly hide the 30 part of the card behind anything on the mantlepiece.... being an old fart has its compensations, you get to take the peece out of the kids as they progress into middle age... ha ha ha can't imagine what they'll say when I get to 4o erm yeah right!!

Hello girls, (sorry is that a bit sexist?) and boys too! well I hope you are all well, and keeping busy with crafting projects... I've been fairly busy too and am pleased with this little 'number' the girl I keep calling Tracy who is actually Hayley (she does my hair for me, luverly girl ) wanted a special card for a new arrival, I suggested a name book but she wanted pockets so I devised this for her! its all cut on my cricut... the baby girls name is Madison, I hope you can see from pic??? and there are lots of pockets and spaces for her mum to put pictures on, I'm secretly pleased with myself on this occasion but don't worry I shan't make a habit of getting to chuffed with myself!! I may put pics of the pages on later for my own vanity of course but obviously a certain amount of begging on your part would help speed up the process :)

Here's a card I did for a friend to give to her SIL, Annettes fav colours are dusty pinks and browns so this paper seemed to fit the bill, I decided instead of glitter I'd sew beads on and it looks ok to me! I've put SOME glitter on and a bit of bling of course! I've only made a couple of A4 cards but they're not as bad as I thought so hope my friend likes this card!!

this is another card for the same girl (Hannah) but not so elaborate, just a little card from my friend Suzi to send to her daughters best friend, I found out after I'd made the other card that her favourite colour is yellow and her fav band is Panadol or something beginning with 'P' ( I'd probably need a couple of Panadol's if I heard the band!!) so the card is covered in a print of the front of the bands album which I'm presuming is called Riot!!!! luckily it sort of lead to a yellowy kind of colour so hopefully that'll go down well too!!
I'm also pleased to say that Meggie, (2 of my previous efforts for Suzi) was chuffed to bits with her cards so that made all the effort well worth it!!

Evening all, is there anybody there??? nah didnt think so! so as usual chatting to myself again.. here's a card I did for another young lady approaching 16 and one of her favourite bands is 'Hey Monday' the lead singer is Cassadee (I think, can't remember now) so did a waterfall card in a trifold card but it was too fat to shut (know the feeling!) so had to put a ribbon closure on and it got a bit 'messy' after that! never mind hoping she'll like it anyway, I kinda liked the box best but should have put the ribbon on the pocket on reflection! don't think birthday cards are top of the list for most 16 year olds, isnt it telling us old farts how little we know and how much they DO know!! ah bless their little cotton socks they have so much to learn... hee hee!

Strewth I'm exhausted now! I've made more cards this week than ever, only 4 more to go and then I'm having a break.... ha ha ha ha ASIF!! these two are for a soon to be 16 year old who loves, Pirates of the Carribean, Brittany Spears, Hippo's and Disney stuff so....... 1st card is Brittany in a slider card, and the 2nd is a waterfall book with various pics of all her fav things!! Heres a pic of the 'card' I did for my daughters birthday in June, I liked the idea of the beads down the front edge of the card and of course as usual got carried away with the whole thing and ended up making a book! it turned out to be another one of my 'projects' and the whole ribbon, bling thing just isnt her, but I'm her mum and entitled to do stuff to annoy her and make her shake her head and roll her eyes..... MOTHERS REVENGE! hee hee
I was pleased with the finished product tho, and used some of 3 million beads so thats good innit!!

Oops, completely muffed this up, trying to update the pics, cos I changed the card below slightly and wanted to swap one picture for another but can't remember how to do it..... Hmmm, must have got in the wrong queue for the 'brains' too!!

Great! then I'll continue, in my previous post I showed pics of cards I made for Lin's 60th birthday last week, she then asked me to make a card for a lady who's 104 next week, the lady loves Bingo so hence the 'Bingo' card, couldnt resist a bit of ribbon and bling tho :) she also wanted a card for her friend Steve who's 60 and golf mad, hence the dodgy golf card (not very impressed with this one!!) and Steve's Mum who is 80 the same day as him and loves...... yeah, you got it Frank Sinatra so I made her a card with Bing Crosby on.... ha ha, I bet you had another look to see if I'd done it wrong didn't you???? just pulling yer leg!! well as you can see, nothing spectacular I'm afraid but, I did these 'faster than a speeding bullet' well for me anyway, I did make a nice card which turned into a book for Lou's birthday but haven't posted it yet.... well, must get on I've got loads more to do so thanks for dropping by xx

Hello Me, crickey I've been busy today, my lovely DD came up last night as its her birthday tomorrow, and I'd made her a card and another one for her friends Mum who's birthday is tomorrow too, it suddenly dawned on me that I hadnt made her a card from me and then her friend Soph hadnt bought her mum a card either so I had to do a rush job and you know I DON'T DO RUSH JOBS! so here are the 3 cards, the red and gold OTT jobby is the one I made for Lou to send, the red and white is obviously from Soph, and the little black number is from me, I kinda like mine best hee hee!! well, this weekend I decided to do some much needed housework, LUCKILY.... my computer called me and I found myself watching a demonstration on how to make this card when you bought a kit, so being tight as a duck house, and no sooner said than done I knocked up a similar idea on my Cricut and here it is, the base card is very dark blue, I added the beads and some ribbon and a flower cos the card should really have been an A3 trifold card and more square than tall, but as I adapted it for A4 card (which is all I have!) its ended up a tall tri fold tall and looked a bit bare! oh come on, you know what I mean!!! the pics arent very good but HEY, its better than housework innit!!

Well, after all I said about acetate cards I fancied doing another one and then halfway through I remembered why I decided not to do it again... theyre a pain in the fandango! they're so awkward to make and thats absolutely the very last one I make.... until the next time I forget why I swore never to make another acetate card!! I don't even know if I'll post a picture of it on here cos its RUBBISH!!
so here's something I prepared earlier as they say, this is NOT an acetate card and although its still rubbish, the front cut out on my cricut was something new for me and I was reasonably pleased that I managed it, however I may have been thinking of cake or something when I cut out the heart bit, cos its far too big!
you just wait till I get all inspired again and make my one peearstaresistance, (fairly good one!) for the year, I have my moments you know... SADLY THIS CARD ISN'T ONE OF THEM!! never mind it gives you something to laugh at and laughings good for you :) :)

MY POST ABOUT LIZ... please read this post... I have now sent this card to its recipient so can explain, I bought some stamps from this lady and being the kind lovely woman she is she let me have her own set, she then sent me a DVD of the programme I mentioned I'm missed and when my wizard needed a new handle she sent me one of those too, all at her own expense, I'd already made her this card just to thank her (I know its a bit strange), but I wanted to put her eBay details on here because I can't praise this lady highly enough and wanted to tell anyone reading this who is thinking of purchasing any stash to have a look on her site, (luluc 123) her prices are very fair, but you'd go a VERY long way to find anyone kinder or more helpful, she may not have what you want but will be more than ready to get it for you if she can, I don't dish out praise for the sake of it but this is my highest recommendation for this smashing lady, if you do check out her site and buy from her please pass it on to your crafting friends too, I'm not on a commission either before you ask :) just so very pleased to have made her acquaintance, she won't even know I've put this on here any way!! My first attempt at an acetate card, and by eck it wasn't as easy as I thought it would be, but then me being me I spent hours getting the 'right' picture, cropping, resizing etc, mucking about with card and paper, then mucking it all up as usual and spending hours trying to bodge it up!! thanks to my absolutely wonderful DH I now have a brilliant printer that prints the colours properly, I can heartily recommend it if any one's interested!!
so..... this card is for a girl at work who used to be a ballet dancer until an injury put an end to her career, so I hope she likes this, at least blue is her favourite colour so that should help!!
wasn't impressed with acetate card making but must admit I kinda like the end result... hope you do too!

This card is for a couple in Oz and they are having this colour for their wedding so I chose a colour I knew they'd like, its a bit bling I hear you cry but you know me!! going by their invites they like unusual so I hope this fits the bill, its a bit of everything but I particularily like the double sided cut out on the inside panel, its the first time I've tried this on my cricut and am very pleased with the result.... one more card to make this week and I'm done for a while, I got busy all of a sudden and really don't have time for this any more but I couldnt say No!!

Don't run away with the idea that I'm bursting with card making surprises, I sat for an hour just looking at the desk hoping for some inspiration for this card, I originally had about 3 weeks to make something but he was told today that he can leave this Thursday, so very short notice for me!! his passions are football and AC DC so this is the best I could come up with at such short notice! I spent an hour looking for the exact font used on the album cover and was quite pleased with myself for that little touch! I put some flourishes on the inserts (2 for people to sign) cos I just can't do plain, I used my cricut to cut his name, this is my second cut using SCAL, great cos I could cut the name etc in the special font so I'm very impressed!! some peel offs and some of my bestest card, got to make the same fella a birthday card for next week so gawd knows what I'm going to do for him now!!

we gave a king size bed to Helly and bought a sofa bed thingy to replace it and I thought I'd be a clever dick and assemble it myself today, all was going well until it wouldnt go flat so I pushed the back and the front part came up and smacked me straight on the bonce, I think I went out cold for a second cos next thing I knew I'd fallen over and broken one of the slats of the bed... if my bonce hadn't hurt so much I'd have PMSL.... but it did so I didnt!! anyway I thought I'd put this on my blog to remind me of the one and only time I followed the instructions and it STILL went wrong... shan't do that again!!

Well I finally made something... I'm amazed too! I can't say its inspirational but at least I've finally made a card again! this is for freinds who are celebrating their 25th Anninversary and I thought I'd keep it all silver cos its a silver anniversary DERRRR!! I made this using my newly purchased dies, theyre ok but will take a bit of learning cos theyre not as easy as I thought they would be! anyway if you're having a shufty..... thanks for dropping by!!
